Maddy's fourth birthday was well celebrated.
It started with a group ChildRoots birthday celebration for Maddy, Kai, Eli and Jack at the Sellwood Community Center. Balloons, ride-on toys, hula-hoops, balls, snacks and cupcakes: what more could a four-year-old possibly want?
Then, the ChildRoots Birthday Circle, where Steve and I participated, bringing in four photos - Maddy at birth, age 1, age 2 and age 3, and the class sand "The Earth Goes Round the Sun" four times, each time looking at another photograph, then ringing in Maddy's fourth year with individual birthday wishes.
Then, her actual birthday. On the morning of Saturday April 25, Maddy opened a couple of presents, then we met up with friends at the East Portland Community Center pool for some fun swimming time, then back to our house for pizza, presents and, of course, cake! Then outside to try out one of the new toys...a Stomp Rocket. Pure fun.
