Faust Family Pool!

Life has been busy at the Faust House so I haven't found as much time to blog...so here's a partial catch-up. This summer we have...a pool! Yes, fun in the sun and nice and refreshing on those hot days. We have plenty of pool toys, and we invite friends over to help us enjoy summertime in the city.

Maddy and I went to Rose City Festival City Fair again this year and had LOTS of fun again. This year Maddy was big enough (and brave enough) to go on some of the rides. We also went on the Ferris Wheel which I loved. Maddy was a happy kiddo and didn't really want to leave when it was time to call it a day.

The end of the summer marks the end of Maddy's 5 year program at ChildRoots. Her transition has begun with events at Vestal, her soon-to-be-new-school. We attended a Kinder Connect event with a science spin - all about water. It was a fun event and informative too!

Futsal! Maddy and her former classmate Finley took a Futsal class together and it went pretty well, other than the fact that Maddy does not like to scrimmage. It's a good thing that Finley was in the class with her or I'm sure she would have had a tough time sticking with it. It was also nice for us to have Finley's parents there so we could catch up and be in touch.

Another fun summer event was a Southsider Birthday Bash for Charlie and Karina at the Children's Gym. The gym had a great birthday party set up geared toward the preschool age group. There was plenty of free play time to start, then more organized play with an obstacle course, snake impersonations, then throwing lots of balls. Near the end the parents joined the game and the kids went wild - getting to bean adults with soft balls is pretty great from the eyes of a five year old. : ) Oh, and of course, there was cake too.

Last but certainly not least, a couple of photos of Maddy and her buddy, Carson. These two have remained close friends throughout their first five years and we'll keep that friendship going.
