Potato Digging Party

Steve's colleague Bob and his wife Nancy have an amazing garden at their home and each autumn they invite neighborhood and friend's kids over to help harvest potatoes. We went this year and had a great time! Maddy loved digging in the dirt for spuds and found quite a few as you can see. Bob and Nancy also sent us home with potatoes, enormous chard, beets and peppers. We are thankful for their generosity and their bountiful harvest.

New Bed, Train and Baking

Maddy has a big girl bed now and she's very proud of it!  It took us awhile to find the perfect bedding, as it seems Disney has a monopoly on the market...but after some searching Maddy and I found a cute owl, hedgehog, outdoorsy set we both liked (and Steve likes it too)!

Recently Maddy, Steve and I headed to Oak Knoll Amusement Park (a very small local amusement park) that happened to also be having a beer festival. We met up with some friends, Melissa, Eric and Althea, and Mandy and Jay. Steve also took Maddy on a train ride around the park, which she loved!

I also wanted to share these photos of Maddy helping bake banana chocolate chip bread (GG's recipe of course!) where she really got into mashing the bananas.  : )   It's also a sighting of our little "Punky" (Maddy becomes "Punky" when she wears her panda pajama pants with her monkey pajama shirt...you know...panda + monkey = Punky!)
