"A Day at the Lake" and Camping at Oxbow (June 29/30)

Saturday June 29 we went to "A Day at the Lake" (Benson Lake) with ChildRoots, Maddy's school. One of her teachers, Isha, even did some face painting (or in Maddy's case, arm painting)! It was a fun day of picnicking and hanging out with other ChildRoots families.

Straight from Benson Lake, we started our camping adventure!

Our "real" camping trip went wonderfully well! Madeline was a true camper, loved the tent ("no shoes in the tent, Mommy!") and her sleeping bag. We had a good dinner of sausages and corn, cooked over the campfire and the next day went on a short hike.  When we broke down the tent, Maddy said she still wanted to "go camping!" so we took that as a very good sign.

All in all it was a great weekend!
